TipTrace

In development

A Forthware Labs product

Tip-allocation and compliance-workflow software for UK hospitality.

Status

TipTrace is being built. It is not available to buy or use, and its scope may change as we learn. We are not publishing a launch date until we can stand behind one.

The problem

Tip allocation is more than working out who receives what. Hospitality teams also need a clear process around the allocation, the written tipping policy, communication with workers and the records that sit behind it.

In many venues, that work is spread across spreadsheets, messages and memory. It can be done carefully and still be difficult to reconstruct later — which is exactly when clear records matter.

Who it is for

Independent hospitality operators and small groups, especially the owner-operators and operations teams who manage tipping day to day.

What we’re building

TipTrace is being designed to help UK hospitality teams calculate and document tip allocations, manage written tipping policies, communicate with workers and respond to record requests from one workspace.

What it does not do

Employers remain responsible for their allocation rules and their legal obligations. TipTrace does not provide legal or tax advice, and it does not decide how tips should be shared.

Interested?

We want to understand how hospitality teams handle tipping in practice. Conversations with operators help shape what we build.
