Privacy Notice

How we handle personal data submitted through this website.

Last updated: 15 August 2026

Who is responsible

Forthware Ltd, trading as Forthware Labs, is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at hello@forthware.com.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through the contact form, we collect:

  • your name;
  • your work email address;
  • your organisation, if you choose to give it;
  • the enquiry type you select;
  • the message you write.

Please do not include passwords, payment details, health information or other sensitive personal data in an enquiry. We do not ask for it and we do not need it.

Our contact service also processes a Cloudflare Turnstile verification token to confirm the request is not automated. The token is checked and discarded; it is never stored.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your details for one purpose: to read and respond to your enquiry. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to someone who has deliberately contacted a business about its work. You can object to this at any time using the contact details above.

Where analytics are concerned, our lawful basis is your consent, and analytics are not loaded unless you give it.

Who else is involved

We use a small number of service providers to run this website:

  • Amazon Web Services — website hosting and email delivery for enquiry notifications. Our infrastructure is located in the AWS London region.
  • Cloudflare — Turnstile, which checks that a form submission is not automated.
  • Google — Google Analytics, used only if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Zoho — the email service that hosts our mailboxes. Enquiries you send us are delivered to, and read in, a Zoho mailbox.

These providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the safeguards those providers make available, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep ordinary website enquiries for 12 months after our last substantive correspondence with you, and then delete them. Spam, obvious abuse and test messages are deleted sooner.

If correspondence becomes part of another company record — for example a contract, accounting evidence or a dispute — we keep it under that record type instead, for as long as that purpose requires.

Enquiries are held in a mailbox. This website does not store enquiries in a database or file archive.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct it if it is wrong;
  • ask us to delete it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it;
  • object to our use of it;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it, such as for analytics.

To exercise any of these, email privacy@forthware.com. We will respond within one month. Some of these rights depend on the circumstances and on the lawful basis we are relying on, so we will explain our decision if we cannot do what you have asked.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have used your personal information, you can make a data-protection complaint to Forthware Ltd at privacy@forthware.com.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. We will investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed where appropriate, and explain the outcome.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not have to complain to us before contacting the ICO.
